During my exciting stay in the hospital, one bright Tuesday afternoon,
a bunch of my friends came to visit me (no, they were not allowed. That’s just
the kind of bunch we are). I was sitting there, innocently colouring a Barbie
and Friends colouring book, when they came in. And yes, as fate did have it, a
cute guy friend of mine, Adam, was hiccupping. This is not rare, he gets the
hiccups a lot, but this particular day was different. Usually he gets very quiet
or tries to hide them or get rid of them, but not this time. This time he was
talking and laughing and not even making any indication that he had the hiccups
at all.
Now remember, Adam is VERY cute. Now, unfortunately I was too tired to
be terribly excited, but it was an amazing case. They were loud and strong,
interrupted him when he was talking, and came at completely random distances
apart. If I were awake, I would have lost my mind.
By the way, this boy is really cute. He was laughing his adorable laugh
and they just kept getting harder and he didn’t even seem to care. So, after
awhile the nurse came and told my friends to be quiet, so they settled down. My
other friends took all the chairs so Lorelei and Adam sat on the end of my bed.
My friend Kelly was talking about school, and Adam wasn’t saying anything, he
was just playing with his ball-chain-necklace, and he had his mouth partway
opened, just naturally. He kept hiccupping and they were so loud and strong,
like “hup!”… I wish I’d been awake enough to care!
Did I mention he’s cute? He’s cute. At one point my friend Jess said,
“Adam, get a drink or something, you’re getting annoying.” Adam made a face but
did as he was told, and unfortunately they stopped. A great case though, from a
boy who happens to be totally cute!

Another case (and I’m not going in order here) belonged to Lorelei
again. I admit that I’m VERY lucky, because a bunch of my best friends are
frequent sufferers, especially Lor, who often produces the world’s best cases.
She came with my dad to pick me up from the hospital on my last day
there (I was there for 2 weeks exactly). In the car on the way home, which is a
pretty long ride, she was telling me about everything I’d missed while I was
gone, and she got to a really funny incident that had happened at school. As
she’s telling me, she starts laughing so hard… you know the result. She
immediately hiccupped loudly, a high-pitched squeaky noise that sounded like a
small dog barking. My dad looked back and he was like, “what was that?!”
They were about 3sec apart and lasted for an hour and a half. Ahh, my
best friend!
